Discovery Club
Hosted STEAM pop-ups by request

Curiosity belongs here.

Discovery Club offers inclusive, sensory-aware experiences where children can wonder, experiment, create, connect, and build confidence without pressure to learn in only one way.

Built for exploration, not pressure

Different ways of learning belong in the room.

Discovery Club welcomes children with a range of learning styles, interests, comfort levels, sensory needs, and ways of communicating.

Sessions blend purposeful play, creative projects, STEAM exploration, movement, and supported social learning. Activities provide enough structure to feel predictable and enough flexibility for children to make choices, follow their curiosity, and participate in ways that work for them.

Current model: hosted pop-ups
How Discovery Club happens today

We come to the community. A host helps open the door.

Discovery Club does not currently operate on a standing weekly schedule or from a permanent Keystone Spark Academy location. Sessions happen when a school, church, nonprofit, library, parent group, company, or other community partner invites us to use its space and helps connect us with participating families.

Depending on funding, facilitator availability, materials, audience, and venue, Discovery Club may be offered as a single pop-up experience or a short hosted series.

A host partner can help by

  • Providing a safe, accessible, age-appropriate space
  • Helping identify and communicate with participating families
  • Sharing expected attendance and accessibility considerations
  • Providing an onsite contact and agreed room setup
  • Sponsoring costs or helping secure a program sponsor when needed

What families can expect

Thoughtful support is built into the experience.

Hands-on discovery

Science, literacy, art, building, and imaginative invitations that make learning active and meaningful.

Sensory-aware spaces

Calmer transitions, adaptable activities, and respect for children’s individual regulation needs.

Connection without pressure

Facilitated opportunities to communicate, collaborate, and make friends at a comfortable pace.

Mixed-age flexibility

Differentiated support that considers development, interest, and readiness, not only age or grade.

Strengths-led guidance

Patient mentors who notice what lights children up and help them build from there.

Belonging by design

An environment where differences are expected, respected, and welcomed from the beginning.

Why it matters

Small moments of belonging can change how a child sees what is possible.

  • More confidence to try, ask, imagine, and contribute
  • Practice with communication, collaboration, and flexible thinking
  • Support for navigating emotions, choices, and transitions
  • Positive peer experiences in a lower-pressure environment
  • A community where children and families can feel understood
